
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain of the United States women's soccer team between 2018 and 2020, along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 when she was picked to play for the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out in second place. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was included in the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
