Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on the 12th of July 1988[1,] is a Canadian singer/actress from Canada. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to win Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in 2005. She is known best for her acting performances on Syfy as Two or Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin, and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama The Rookie. She was placed in the bottom three spots and two of the finals. The judges encouraged viewers to vote for contestants like Melissa who had the most impressive vocal skills. O'Neil's performances were constantly praised and O'Neil was not relegated to the bottom three. Zack Werner, the judge, called O'Neil "a potential winner it all". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie made it to the finals on September 7 on the 7th of September in 2005. Werner, a judge, famously declared that the headlines in the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away. Long live the Queen." During the grand finale results show on the 14th of September in 2005, O'Neil defeated Goudie to be crowned the third Canadian Idol, as well as the first female winner, and (at 17) the youngest winner in the show's history.
